[Consald-l] 2013 Madison Cooperative Collection Development Workshop

For those who had inquired, this message will confirm that the 2013 Cooperative Collection Development Workshop for South Asian Resources will be held in Madison on Friday, October 18. As you recall, the theme of this years' workshop will be on communicating our vision, success, and impact. This year we invite all interested librarians to join in this workshop--including those who were unable to partner in previous years--as a means of broadly sharing ideas and gathering input. If you have not rsvp-ed to me, Mary, or Bronwen, please do so at your earliest opportunity.

distinct from those at other institutions.

So for those of you would like to respond, I would be interested in
answers to the following three questions (in the context of your
institution of employment):

[Consald-l] usefulness of MLS

A young relative of mine has wound up as the Director of Circulation at a small law school library at the age of 31, largely on the basis of undergraduate jobs at his university library continued after his BA with some astounding good luck.  (He got a subaltern job at a library in another state following his fiancée and then the previous Director suddenly left.)  He wants to know whether he should pursue an MLS for further advancement in the profession.  I told him I was virtually certain he should but would ask around for more authoritative and up to date advice.  He has no particular spec
