[Consald-l] Deobandi magazine from England?

Nov
01

In my attempt to associate religious magazines with the schools of thought or particular Islamic thinking, I came across the following website: http://rabetah.org/

I believe it will have a Deobandi frame of reference. This raised the question of coordinating South Asia publications from outside of South Asia. Was this question raised at the recent meeting in Madison?

FYI. From what I can see, no one is collecting Al-Islah.

There is not much in Afghanistan, but would be important to follow in
the coming year:

Much of the reporting on human rights is done through the regional
offices of international organizations.

[Consald-l] Other web crawling

Oct

This year, the Library of Congress Overseas offices — Pakistan, New
Delhi, Jakarta, and Cairo — worked together on project to collect
Islamist/Islamic political web sites.

I think this will be important collection because we were able to
capture sites during an time in the Middle East that had repercussions
across the Muslim world.

I'll devote a piece of our agenda to this topic, perhaps as part of
the discussion on documenting South Asian digital resources. This is a
great case in point.
