LC has an extra copy of this available. It discusses some of the same things Kripal does.

As usual, please reply to the list as well as to me so as to avoid my having to make multiple responses.

Dear Bindu and CONSALD,attached here again is the note I sent out to CONSALD, I believe back in April. I don't think any responses have come in, but it would still be valuable for the BAS Advisory Board to get your input as per the memo. I'd be happy to answer any questions on this. (Reminder: the full list of South Asian journals indexed in the BAS can be reviewed online at: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/indiv/southasia/cuvl/SABAS.html). Thanks for your assistance.
See you all in Madison.  Best,David Magier

Subject: [eastlib] The Bibliography of Asian Studies
Dear Colleagues,
I hope that you have managed to fit a vacation in between our annual meeting and the return of the faculty and students in the very near future. I have a series of questions for those of you who work with faculty and students using English language resources on Asian Studies about the Bibliography of Asian Studies. If you do not do it yourself, could you please forward this message to your colleague who does.
Very briefly, the Editorial Board of the Bibliography of Asian Studies (BAS) has a list of “fast-track” titles that get indexed as soon as they are available. Given time limits of the staff doing the indexing, it is important to review this list an make changes so that they are putting their energies to the titles with the highest priority first.
Also, we have begun to discuss adding indexing for online-only journals to the BAS – they are not there now. We are soliciting suggestions of which titles you think we should start adding.
The letter attached is longer, more explanatory, and includes the list of current fast track titles. Please send your responses and suggestions to me: sdomier@library.umass.edu   I will compile the ones received from the eastlib community members and share them with the board.
Many, many thanks for your time and support of the Bibliography of Asian Studies.
Sharon Domier

Tibetan titles thru SACAP?

Aug

Dear Lauran

CRL receives 19 Tibetan language serial titles, 15 of which are published in India. SCAP profiles are for monographs only and CRL does not subscribe to the Tibetan langauge profile.

Dear Laila,

Thank you very much. This is just what I was looking for. One last
question: where does CRL fit in this? Do they still collect/generate
Tibetan-language microfilm? Other materials? Has their profile
changed over time?

It is interesting/encouraging to see that while a few institutions
have stopped collecting Tibetan titles (the NYPL situation is
especially saddening), other schools have started the program in
recent years!
