[Sacapcooperation-l] FW: Cooperative Collection Development

Apr
26

Hello coop colleagues,

I want to declare something close to victory on our SACAP serials add/drop assignment. I managed the hard part, identifying102 serials to cut, just a smidge over the 10% target. Of the 50 to be added, 28 are identified here. I plan to continue to respond to circulars and to seek out titles that fit with interests at Cornell and its neighboring institutions. Examples of the latter that our patrons have asked for include the Indian editions of Rolling Stone and Time magazine, neither of which seems to have reached US collections before.

[Sacapcooperation-l] Serials Update from University of Washington

Mar

Here is an update from University of Washington.

Total # of journals we subscribe to from both Pakistan and
India.  520 (487 for LC-New Delhi's per LC subscription list + 33
for LC Islamabad )
10% = 52 ( exclude), 5% = 26 ( add)

I am considering exclusion of the titles that fall under one of the following categories:

Dear all,

I am not yet ready to post the list of serials ( both picked up and canceled) at UW Libraries  but would like to do that soon.

Thanks for your patience.

Re: [Sacapcooperation-l] Report on serials from the Princeton University Library

Princeton University is greatly expanding LC-Delhi and LC-Islamabad serials profiles, as indicated in the two attached spread sheets which have been submitted to LC. Sign up should be completed this month, or very shortly afterwards.

The LC—Delhi Serials selections are entirely new. The LC-Islamabad Serials spreadsheet includes our current five serials (highlighted in blue) and a list of newly subscribed serials. (Whoops—I forgot to drop half a serial—I can do that as well.)

Re: [Sacapcooperation-l] Report on monographs from Princeton University Library

Before addressing the current serials workshop, I need to report on Princeton's expanded LC monographs profile. We had promised to take on Tamil comprehensive materials from LC-Delhi for our regional (Eastern) Borrow Direct group. All Tamil categories
(with the exception of Sri Lanka Tamil, available at Cornell) are included in my monograph subject headings. We are signing up starting this month.

I attach two spread sheets that that indicate Princeton's new LC—Delhi monograph subject profile and expanded/revised LC-Islamabad subject profile.
